I have had a love of stitching and a fascination for textiles since childhood. My mother was a milliner who had her own shop “The Hat Hospital” in Victoria. She taught me to sew and how to match colours to customers’ fabrics. I touched on embroidery at junior school. When I retired about 5 years ago I joined a local creative embroidery class. About the same time I was introduced to felt making and so I sometimes make felt as the basis for my stitched pictures. I recently had two pictures accepted for The Highgate Literary & Scientific Institution Members’ Art Exhibition Feb 2019; the first time I had ever exhibited. I am eager to explore new avenues and for further challenges ahead.
