Our membership is open to anyone interested in textiles, whether they are professional embroiderers or keen amateurs. Our aims are to promote a high standard of design and to encourage our members to enjoy self-expression through the medium of embroidery.

Our appreciation of the great tradition of stitched textiles is helped by visits to museums and other collections and by having well-known lecturers at our meetings to stimulate new ideas and discussions. We exhibit in London and other parts of the country. In recent years we have shown at the Knitting and Stitching Shows, the Museum of Garden History at Lambeth, Highgate Literary and Scientific Institution, and Hall Place near Bexley. As membership is open to all, the work for exhibitions goes before a selection committee to ensure a high standard of design, execution and presentation. Members contribute to a lively quarterly newsletter with articles about old and new textile techniques, exhibitions, and useful information about the whole scene of textiles and embroidery.

We welcome new members. If you’d like more information, please feel free to email us.
