From an early age I have always enjoyed making and creating, using both paper and textiles. In a way, completing my City & Guilds in Design & Embroidery to Diploma level gave me the impetus to develop as a textile artist and a wide range of techniques to call on when designing a piece of work.

I have always been drawn to colour – like a kid in a sweet shop I want to own every shade when faced with a range of pencils, fabrics, paints etc – and particularly love the reflective quality of metallics, silk and organza. I was a student at Committed to Cloth for a long while and learnt so much about dyeing fabric and thread, as well as design and composition.
